Hello!
I am a performer and designer with a B.A. in Theatre: Acting & Theatrical Design and Technology from North Central College! I have acted in more productions than years I've been alive, and I keep auditioning in order to maintain that ratio! Acting credits include Next to Normal (Diana), The Importance of Being Earnest (Gwendolen/Lane), A Devil Comes to Town (The Devil/Ensemble), Shattered Noodle Scrapbook (Ensemble), Love and Information (Ensemble/Deviser), Into the Woods (Jack’s Mom), Cinderella (Ella).
I've had experience in a lot of design areas, working on shows such as The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Costume Design), The Addams Family (Costume Design), This is Not The Reunion (Scenic Design), She Loves Me (Prop Artisan), and Willy Wonka (Assistant Director/Backstage Manager). From my design classes at NCC, I currently have several theoretical design projects under my belt, including A Raisin in the Sun (Scenic Design), Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812 (Costume Design), and Alice By Heart (Costume Design).
Artist Statement
I am a Chicago based actor and theatre artist who values personal identity and connection above all else! I have been working on and offstage for the majority of my life, and it took a long time for me to figure out an identity that is uniquely me. I approach acting in a way that allows me to express aspects of my own identity through my connection to a role. What aspects of a character can I not only find humanity in, but find myself in? How does my own personal identity affect the way a role is portrayed? How does it affect the way a character is perceived by an audience? More often than not, I am able use my personal identity to allow people to connect with a character they otherwise may not have. I apply the same principle in my design work; I strive to spark a connection between my designs and the identities of those who view them. Whether it reminds them of something familiar, or ignites an interest in something new, I want my work to build a bridge between the stage and the seats that audiences feel welcome to cross.
Let's Work Together!
I'm always looking for new and exciting opportunities. Please feel free to get in touch!
